This morning I’ve been thinking about the blog post I did recently about taking photos of your family because even if they aren’t perfect (the photos not your family) and faces are shadowed or someone’s looking in the wrong direction… well you’ll be happy to look back on them in future years.
and then I thought about Emma.
Why you ask?
Because this kid takes pictures non-stop. She takes them on her phone and from the computer and it doesn’t matter if it’s day or night, it doesn’t matter if we look good or not and it doesn’t even matter to her if we actually WANT to be in the photos. She’ll go ahead and take them anyway.
and now I realize just how much I love that about her because she’s doing exactly what I was talking about. just take the picture… even when you’re not dressed up, or have fancy makeup on and even when the lighting is less than ideal… just do it.
Like these two photos below. Emma had to seriously talk me into being in these photos… I did not want to have my picture taken because c’mon, I was lounging comfortably with no makeup on and not in the mood for a photo.
But she forced me, she used those big brown eyes and she got her way. And now, looking back at these two grainy, poor quality little shots… well I LOVE them because they make me smile over and over again.
This is us, random, un-fancy and just smack-dab in the middle of normal every day living.
Emma took these with the photobooth program on my laptop and she even snuck in a little editing (I think green is definitely our colour). easy peasy lemon squeezy.
Ok it’s the start of a new week which means a new to-do list:
I’ll be finishing up editing the mini-session shoots which have been so much fun to work on!!
Time to get a big ‘ol pumpkin to carve. Because to be honest, that’s pretty much the only Halloween decorating we do. unless you consider empty chocolate wrappers laying around decorating ;D
I’m also thinking about taking a family photo of the three of us for our Christmas card this year. We’ve never done this and I love the idea so I’ll be looking online for inspiration.
Ok it’s time to get this fabulous day underway…. Happy Monday Everyone!!
